Hi, it's me... Johnna

Johnna is a working mom, caretaker of many pets, cook, and married with a growing boy. She has experienced an unexpected life turn that has called her to hang on with a tight grip and determination. She has great support from family and friends with prayer and love.

This blog site has been started by family as a way to help communicate to other family members and friends across the country about her current medical condition. Please join us as a GENEROSITY HERO by helping with medical expenses through a GoFundMe account to ease the burden on her and her family during this difficult time. A link is provided below.

The Journey

It started several months ago with a loss of appetite and diminishing mobility. In one event going down to the basement Johnna fell and slightly hit her head. It was apparent that something was happening in her body that needed to be addressed. In early September '23 it started to result in the inability to even get up and walk across the room. Around September 13th Johnna was admitted to the hospital to be treated for a lack of protein in her body. She could not even get out of bed. Johnna was in the ICU for a couple weeks receiving treatment to boost her system as the doctors assess and evaluate. The first diagnosis was "Gullian-Barre Syndrome", which is an attack by the immune system to the nerves from a viral infection. The second diagnosis was "Miller Fisher syndrome" which is a variant of the Gillain-Barre Syndrome. It is a rare nerve disease. The latest and 3rd diagnosis is "Wernicke Syndrome" or "Wernicke-Korsakoff Syndrome." As of October 7th, it is still unknown formally, but there is little progress in Johnna's health condition physically. Johnna continues to have foggy life details mentally.
